Supplies Needed
- Cutting pliers (Flush snips if you have them)
- Large pliers
- T20,T30 and T8 bits
- 20IPR (5 point security bit)
Step 1) Remove the two wire protectors on the rails
Step 2) Remove any fender or fender delete options
Step 3) On the battery side (Heavy side) remove the 4 screws and pull out bumper
Step 4) Turn the board on its side and remove the two screws holding the motor on (Charge port side)
Step 5) Remove 4 screws under the rear footpad
Step 6) Pull the loose rail to the side to allow for the battery module to release
7) Turn the battery module around and remove the 8 Security screws holding the aluminum top on
8) Open the module and remove the 2 screws holding the cover that shields the BMS
9) Unplug the Balance leads first (24 pin connector) and then the XT60 connector second
10) Using any snipping tool, modify the BMS cover to look like this
If you purchased your Quart after 7/26/2021, skip to step 12.
If you purchased overstock quart, continue to step 11.
11) Using large pliers or a snipping tool, cut 3 panels to look like this:
11a) Be sure your housing looks like the image below
They should be as flush as possible. The most
Important panel that needs to be flush is the
panel closest to the BMS.
Step 12) Reinstall battery module by following this guide in reverse. Reinstall the XT60 connector first, and then install the 24 pin balance leads second
BE SURE TO NOT PINCH ANY WIRES UNDER THE BMS
Wrapping up) Charge the battery until the charger light goes green! The following scale is a good reference point for charge
